We trap propolis using screen door mesh cut to fit the top of the hive and then elevate the outer cover. The bees fill the small squares of the mesh quickly. Each screen produces .10 pounds in a week to two weeks depending on bees and environmental conditions. I have not done it enough to tell exactly what makes the difference.
