   I liked Andy, and certainly miss his wit and wisdom on the list.

   But I can't see how one can lose his soul by having compassion
on his bees.  If my dog has worms, I take her to the vet and pay for
the necessary treatment. I refuse to just let her suffer and probably
die.

   Likewise my bees. I have accepted the husbandry of them, and
part of this relationship is to try to allieviate suffering for them. I do
not like to take medicines either, and would always prefer the
"natural" course when possible, but, when no other route works, I
do what I have to do. Life is precious.
