The have raised almost $2million so far:

My personal favorite: "Put a hive on your roof and pipe the honey right
into your kitchen at the press of a button. This will be an available
upgrade in the future."

On the other hand it is raising awareness about bees, albeit the
expectations it creates may be different than reality.

One thought is: how do beekeepers set up their own resources to better
educate and engage the public? The public is interested in funding bee
related activity.

FYI: They are using one of several "crowdfunding" sites where individuals
donate to projects.

There's money out there if you have a dream.
