It's also known as dowsing.  The pendulum only tells you things you 

know already but didn't know you knew. I occasionally use a pendulum 

for locating geocaches etc.  I haven't heard of it being used for honey 

identification.

Yes, actually I have. I saw a guy do that at a flea market when I lived 

in

western NC, out near Murphy. People are funny about some things.



Some call it Divining and some call it Witching or Whitching. Some do 

it w/ a

"stone", like your guy. Others do it w/ a forked tree branch or even a 

copper

wire bent like a V.
