DEET is a repellent isn’t it and not an actual insecticide? Still it
probably wouldn’t bee to great for the health of the bees.

Suzanne asked if the newspaper trick for uniting the hive was a stupid
idea. In reply to Suzanne I would say—absolutely not. Some of the replies
to her question, on the other hand, did seem lacking, to me at least, in
common sense. I suspect Allen’s reply was done with tongue firmly in cheek.
Still, you never know….
