Hello Kathy & All,

Sorry I upset you!

All I was trying to point out was researchers keep going back into the past
and making seem new.

The HFCS work of Dr. Pamela Gregory (which I did an article on) was an exact
reproduction of the 1974 research of Murphy.

I do not remember the discussion you refer to but will comment if you pull
up some of my statements.

I have been around Cox since he started. The subject has merit . However
the discussions I refer to were by Dr. Shiminki (then head of the Beltsville
Bee Lab and the researcher who named parasitic Mite syndrome PMS ) and
although "Shim" and I had private discussions I should have used the
terminology *presentations* as they were given at four meetings I attended
that year at which he gave the presentations.

Although we did not agree on every issue I have said many times on the list
"Shim" was the best USDA-ARS researcher I ever crossed paths with.

For those not familiar Dr. Jeff Pettis replaced Dr. Shimiunki when he
retired.

I guess I have watched policy after policy fail over the years when the
government takes the wheel. So I ask for accountability in government. Maybe
new to you but I have put many a red face on researchers by asking tough
questions over the years. Including "Shim". I don't have all the answers for
sure but I am not afraid to ask the tough questions of researcher, USDA or
chemical companies. I did the article years ago published in ABJ on the
neonicotinoids when no other other would touch then or since.

As far as others on the list despite what you might think we are all
friends. As for Randy I have been called worse than "full of hot air" and I
am actually helping Randy on his neonicotinoid experiment.

I saw writing talent in Randy from his first post on BEE-L and encouraged
Randy to write for bee magazines.( in the archives) Hell now he is famous!

A member of the list said he tried to get close to Randy at the California
meeting to talk and said so many people were around Randy he could not get
close. His exact words:
"heck they were treating Randy like he was some kind of a rock start"

Randy knows I am a tough old beekeeper and it will take a bit more than
"full of hot air" to hurt my feelings.

However I do apologize to the members which feel I have been a bit harsh
with in my posts ! I apologize to all the researchers and USDA people which
think I have been unduly harsh with my criticism.

(and anyone else on the list that would like to respond) share what needs to
be set as an agenda for the good of bees and the beekeeping industry in lieu
of employing target practice on the efforts of others.

Another Christmas and a stocking full of rocks will hurt so need to be on
my best behavior!

Kids and grandkids are coming so grandpa beekeeper has to get ready so will
comment later.

Also help needed on the front lines of beekeeping.

Sincerely,
Bob Harrison

Merry Christmas to my fellow Christians!
                             and
Happy Holidays to the rest!
