Two colonies are offered to NEW BEEKEEPERS only
There were over 2500 requests for only 200 keepers
In order to receive the colonies the applicant must join and regularly
attend a local beekeeper assn.
There are surveys that have to be filled out on a regular interval to
monitor the colonies.
NC has more beekeepers than any other state, most of who are hobby
beekeepers.
The program is designed to increase the numbers of NEW beekeepers, we were
all new at some time.

I hope this may clear up some misconceptions
