HONOLULU (AP) — The U.S. House has approved the House-Senate
Conference report on the 2010 agriculture appropriations bill.

Hawaii Democratic Rep. Neil Abercrombie says the measure contains a
number of items that would affect the islands' agriculture industry.

Close to $9 million would be used to continue research and strategies
to control invasive alien species. An additional $3 million would go
into the development of pest eradication and control methods,
including varroa mites and fruit flies.
