Re: electric motor speed:

I have a dual-speed electric motor from an old washing machine on my
extractor. A single pole double throw (SPDT) switch selects high or low
speed, from the same motor. Used originally to select normal or gentle
wash action.
Allows me to start out slow with the full frames and then go to full
speed at the flip of a switch. No additional belts or gearing to select
those two speeds.

Might be of interest to a creaming operation as well.
