Is anyone using aspects of colony-level behavior to select their queens?

my comments..
First I would say yes and always but with some reservations.  It is the detail of the inspection at the macro level for these hives that are most important. The reservation is I still want to look at the queen real hard to see if there is anything about her health or behavior that would make me wish to NOT use her as either a queen or drone mother. As I have stated before culling (for undesirable qualities) is as important (if not more so) than selection...
