Yes, frequently. Works well, though those with hundreds of colonies would find it expensive. Gives comb protection for up to a year. In my travels in many parts of eastern Europe I have found that beekeepers with many colonies store their combs in sheds or cellars on racks in full light . This also deters waxmoths. Supers stacked up with a saucer containing 60ml of an 80% solution of acetic acid in cotton wool on top of each box with all joints sealed works well too. I sent this information to Jerry Hayes in the ABJ being surprised that he was still advocating the use of PDB which is banned elsewhere as it is carcinogenic and leaves residues in the wax and honey. He also informed me that Certan has not been given authorisation for use in the US. If all fails keep honey combs above very strong colonies
