Sorry Bob, that is a bit naive.  We buy eggs from someone who leaves them in
the porch with a tin for the money.  For several years they have had the
occasional theft.  Now they have had to move the eggs indoors at weekends
and ask customers to ring the doorbell as they have had so many stolen.  Can
you believe that anyone would steal a few eggs?

Perhaps people are more honest where you live.
