Walter T. Kelley Co. used to sell one-piece molded plastic units like this.
They looked like a telescoping lid but had the same lenth and width as a
hive body.  I'm not sure if they still have them, or if they would be
strong enough to hold a stack of full supers.  You might check a recent
catalog.
