I remember back in college, I took a "science and ethics" class, and one of the possible GM scenarios we discussed was that of a bee that was modified to produce a valuable drug or enzme. The substance would end up in the honey, which could be purified and refined. Pure conjecture at the time, but I wouldn't be suprised if somebody is working on something like this somewhere.

somewhere in the world was trying to introduce a chromophore such as
GFP ........... WHY ? ..........why indeed, as a first step in proving that GM bees
could be produced (Pandoras box again)
