One thing that has not been mentioned in this
thread is drone density.  You need a LOT of drones
flying around to be able to get those hand-crafted
queens mated decently.  This means having dedicated
drone-rearing colonies.  The somewhat new drone-sized
foundation makes this easier than it used to be.
