Ron,
I couldn't agree with you more!  We produce (or rather our girls) produce a
premium product and it should carry a premium price!  I have had this
discussion with members of our club and have had people look at me like I was
nuts.  Why compete with the supermarket?  Is a Lincoln more money than an
Escort?  Are cashews more expensive than peanuts?  Does 12 year old, single
malt Scotch cost a bit more than Scotty's?  YES!  So should our honey.
Through a group effort we can class locally produced honey in it's own
category and set and receive a premium price for it!  Beekeepers' have to
believe we do have a superior product.
