Speciation is not the only result of evolution possible.  Don't forget
extinction, descent with modification, or any number of others.  Even if
they remain the same you still have stabilizing evolution weeding out bad
mutations etc.  The only way you'd see no evolution is if you eliminated
mutation and recombination and drift and gene flow.
