I have heard of beekeepers being caught by
snow when pulling their fall honey crops,
but this was the first time I was caught
by snow when SUPERING.

Snow was predicted, but I, like many others,
assumed that any snow accumulation would
be limited to the highest elevations.

Yesterday, I was supering hives in a tee-shirt,
working up a sweat.

Today, we started with rain, and as of 10:30am,
we have at least an inch of accumulated snow.

Yesterday, we had generalized blooming of several
trees, and decent foraging conditions.

Today, we have 34 degrees F, which threatens
to knock down everything blooming.

All I can do today is to make a snow man, and
equip him with a smoker and veil.
