Not when there are Aussie Packages available.  That is not a criticism of Aussie packages but simply a reality unless they are now unable to meet demands.  I'll admit I have not kept up to date on this matter.

I also think we tend to inflate the food issue, which is a separate argument all together.

As to USDA funding.  I`d like to see a grant to help fund smaller beekeepers become larger if their business is making money.  We filed for a matching grant (up to 50%, 2178ft/2, or a price min which ever comes first) for a hoophouse to extend our growing season for a restaurant produce business.  I see no reason why this could not be used with bees as well, especially (and I know I will get flak for this)  getting new beekeepers into the business be it pollination, honey production, or as a SARE type grant for something more sustainable.
