     Dear Bee-l

I have been collecting samples of gum trees around my bee-sites.
I'm in Cape Town ( South Africa )- sites in Stellebosh - Paarl -
     Kalbaskraal.
Among these I can now destinguish Eucalyptus cladocalyx (sugar gum ),
some redgum, spider gum and river red gum. My problem is at a site
where I get a very early, very good crop of straw-coloured ( similar
to sugar gum), around December/Jan. These Eucalypts are very abundant
there. The fruit looks similar to river red gum. What is this thing?
Where, besides The SA bee journal can I get good Eucalyptus
     referances???

     Thanks for listening.
