Christine and I agree on this one, we have seen the consequences of newbees buying nucs. They are often given a dose of the problems that vex the experts.

Not that packages are pristine but there is potentially a lot more junk lurking in those old brood combs they usually unload on the hapless nuc buyer for a hundred bucks or more
