A very short reference and warning...

If u read Jay Smiths stuff (very dated but imho still relevant) he does suggest if you are rearing queen to feed a little @ every level < queen & drone mother hives & nucs.  As far as my own personal experience in feeding stuff here you can overfeed (especially if u have a significant flow goings) so the waring is to feed but not too much.
