The development of resistance was easily predicted, due to the excessive
reliance upon a single measure of control (Bt proteins). The same is
expected with the universal use of identical seed treatment of the vast
majority of seed.

Our narrowing of the genetic diversity of crop cultivars, and over reliance
upon single methods of pest control, fly in the face of everything that we
know about pest resistance management.

It sometimes seems that we will never learn!
