My hive has 2 ells and a rise of about 6 feet straight up. I assumed they were flying it from the looks of the traffic. Have seen slightly longer runs with holes drilled(1/8") I suppose to let light in. I'm told they need the light or they won't find the exit. This was 1 1/2" white PVC.
