Hi Christina & All

I was pulling sticky boards today and noticed, once again(see it every
year at this time), thousands of small yellow petal-like things
coating the sticky boards. Watching the entrances many of the bees
have these things attached to them. Asclepias L. (milkweed) : Goltz,
L. (1986) ABJ 126(9) 601-602 : Sometimes N collecting bees fatally
trapped in flowers by strands attached to pairs of polllinia,
characteristic of milkweeds. Several masses of pollinia may be
inadvertently carried on a bees body from flower to flower. Honey
light colour and mild flavour, cappings pearly white and ideal for
comb honey production.
