I agree wholeheartedly with Bob that pesticide drift and runoff are major
environmental problems.  Applying a pesticide to your own land is one
thing.  Allowing it to drift into the larger environment is something else
again, as it then can affect organisms far from the actual site of
application.

I live in the state that is the most restrictive of pesticides, and has the
best monitoring, yet there are still problems with bees.  I suggest that
those of you in other states lobby for better pesticide monitoring and
enforcement.  California is a model that can be followed.  Canada and New
Zealand are even better!
