Hands down, the best of all beehive patents has to be the Upham 1845 patent for a "Fowl Roost and Beehive".
Patent attached.

This was the first and, as far as we know, only successful attempt to patent the birds and the bees, but there is valid reasoning here - the chickens will eat dead bees tossed out of the hives, providing a small free supplemental protein source for the chickens.
