Unless the foundation had a lot of extra wax in its composition, I'm not sure if I understand that adding new foundation annually doesn't reduce honey crops.  I believe the formula is eight pounds of honey produces one pound of beeswax.  Plus it involves a lot of bees just to produce the wax and then to draw it out on the foundation.  Seems like there are a lot of wax production resources that the colony could utilize elsewhere in the honey production process.  Granted that drawing out foundation doesn't require all that much wax per frame, but the time to do that would take time away from other honey production activities to my mind.  Am I mistaken here?
