Just in time of Randy's 100 F, Sciencedaily pointed me to the following
article

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/12/101222121610.htm
98.6 Degrees Fahrenheit Ideal Temperature for Keeping Fungi Away and Food at
Bay
The optimal temperature for maximizing benefits while minimizing costs was
found to be 36.7° C, which closely approximates normal body temperature.

And from there to our lovelly bees ...

Bees Warm Up With a Drink, Too!
The Monash University research, published in the journal *PLoS ONE*, has
shown that important pollinators of many of our flowers, native Australian
stingless bees, warm up their bodies by having a 'hot' drink on a cool day
-- or a 'cool' drink in warmer weather.

and follows ..

Bees Can Learn Differences in Food's Temperature, Study Finds

"We show that honeybees have the ability to associate temperature
differences with food," said James Nieh, an associate professor of biology
who headed the study. "This information may help guide bees looking for food
by allowing them to distinguish which bees are returning to the hive with
the highest quality of food."

"Body temperature is seen in terms of its net caloric benefit to the other
foragers," said Nieh. "The warmest forager in the nest is the one most
likely to be visiting of the sweetest, highest quality food."

I could follow but do not have time right now ...
