Thanks for the link Jim. I thought it was an accurate overview of the state and future direction of the beekeeping industry. The proverb I take away after reading it is:

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime, invent a balanced fish food and you allow one man to feed the world’s entire population forever with a single fish farm. The beauty of having just one humungous fish farm is that it will obviously be too big to fail, which is good, because somehow all the wild fish have disappeared.
