I find this business of drones being dragged out by their wings in fall
as an
indication of the Queen laying well, quite interesting!
 
I always watch this activity in the fall. (In fact I stand beside the
hive
quite often and observe...seems it's easy to get a feeling how things
are going) This past fall one of my hives was quite active in dragging
drones out by the wings. I can't recall how active ]the other hive was
by comparison.
