My wife always wears a full suit when in the hives. I do too if I am really
working them, moving frames and boxes. I will sometimes open full hives and
nucs dressed in a t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops. Dressed this way I have
taken a quick look around, added pollen patties, and added syrup.
I wear nitrile gloves so I can feel the bees and still have some protection.
Neither of us reacts to the stings.
