There is considerable scientific information on the effects of climate change in the USGS monthly public lecture series from Menlo Park, CA.  For those who have the band width to connect, I highly recommend the presentations made by prominent scientists.  Of particular interest will be the videos from Mar, Apr 09, Feb, May, Oct, Nov 08, and June, Dec 05.  These are available at the website below.
