I guess almost anyone with academic credentials would begin the discussion by asking ..... what do we have in common and what is different between the two species. You are certainly correct Peter in that humans are not honeybees but we continue to see examples (on Bee Line) making comparison in regards to health issue using human and other more complex animal as examples. The point being there is little or no similarities and therefore the example is totally misleading.

Ps... thanks for the link to the 'hive mind' in Bee Culture.  Enjoyed that greatly..

Gene in central Texas limping along pulling a small bit of honey and still making up nuclei...
