The book Beekeeping for Dummies
talks about making grease patties
with sugar and Crisco
and "mineral salt (the orange/brown salt
available from farm supply stores - it's
used to feed to livestock)."

My hive is only 2 weeks "old" so I understand
that grease patties are not a rush item yet.
However, farm supply stores are few and far
between in the city where I live
so I was wondering if the "gray salt" available
from the grommet beer & cheese store will do.
It's supposed to be made by evaporating
unfiltered sea water.

Any suggestions?
