Thanks.  It seems to me that it should work quite reliably if the bees are 
strong enough and have enough nectar or feed and if it is warm enough down 
there.  I know that if standard frames are placed in a jumbo box, two inches 
of comb are drawn on the bottoms of the frames.  It is all drone comb in my 
experience, though.

This is one of my concerns about drawing foundation late in the year.  Does 
comb building age bees?  I can't see why it would, but I also can't see why 
it wouldn't.
