What is this? Just a certain thickness/size, just a certain glue, just a certain purpose?

Or is there a specific type of plywood called, "Sign Board," that would have corresponding benefits for beekeepers? If I go to my local home improvement store and ask for "Sign Board," will they give me their typical blank stare wondering what I'm trying to describe? Or should I ask for some of their regular plywood that has exterior glue?
