I think it will be common! You will find variation in colours among apis melifera melifera as well as apis ligustica can vary in colour. If you want to know what kind of bees you are facing, you have to do a DNA research an if this is not possible you can do a wingindex research.
In Denmark we have a small island where the apis melifera melifera is the main bee population. There has been a lot of turbulens around this, but now this population should hopefully be preserved for the future, becouse the island is protected area exclusivly for the apis melifera melifera. The island is Laesoe (Lęsų).
