Being situated in N. Florida I have noticed beetles in my hives and was
remarking about it to another bee man. He advised me that I could use an
insecticide called COR-Al , a powder, that is sold at most farm centers for
the control of hornflies and lice on cattle. It is Phosphorothioate (
cumaphos) 1 %, where the coumaphos strips sold are 10 %. He said I could
put it into the cracks between the frames on the end rests and the beetles
would crawl through it and die. Bees, he said were not effected by it.. I
hate to use any type chemicals, but what other choice do I have with the
beetle ? Has anyone used this powder on beetles? I went to the local farm
center and looked at the product and priced it..$17.00 for about 10
lbs..Thanks Will Lewis..
