Today while near my hives, I found myself in the middle of a swarm of
bees after 30 or more minutes, they clustered on the front of their hive
and in 10 more minutes, reentered the hive and all has been business as
usual the rest of the day.

When one of my hives was doing this for the third time last spring,
something finally clicked upstairs and I looked on the ground in front
of the hive. The queen was dashing around on the ground.
So I caged her and hung her from a convenient branch, thinking I
could control where the swarm would settle. Nope. Swarm settled at the
top of a tree and later went back into the parent colony.
