I notice in the current queen rearing discussion, that everyone keeps refering
to Laidlaw's Contemporary Queen Rearing. I believe that book is about twenty
years old. I just bought a copy of his new book. I provides much more
information about the new research on the science of queen rearing and also
addresses new issues like selecting for mite resistance. I think that
everyone who intends to drag unsuspecting larvae out of their cells to make
them into queens should give Laidlaw's new book a serious read.
