I had the other day at swarm like ball of bees amassed, hanging under the
front of the bottom board. I collected this ball of bees into a hive body and
thought that it were a swarm. Not so, in about an hour the bees were out of
the body and into the hive from whence they came. Ok, they were hot and wanted
out for a while. Then the next day -yesterday they were beginning to form
under the bottom board again, although this time there were less bees than
before. I puffed a little smoke and they left for home.
I thought that maybe they were too crowded and therefore placed another super
on top. But looking into the hive I saw no crowd of bees. I would say only a
normal amount.
My question is this, what is going on with these restless creatures? Do they
not like their home? Or are they just out for a day ??
Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you much,
Dave in Indiana
