Michael asked

>Sorry, but what exactly is Crisco and what is it supposed to be for?

Crisco is a vegetable shortening (grease) that is used in baking. It
has the consistency of Lard. For bees vegetable oil/grease is
preferable to animal sourced material. No need to apologize. We often
take it for granted that everyone knows things common in our
environment.
