Hi list. We have a gamma sterilization program for cleaning up AFB bee gear
and woodenware. I just borrowed an extractor that has not been used in
some time. It is very dirty, and had some old frames still in it, with lots
of moth webs and cocoons. I got to thinking about AFB. I cannit gamma
sterilize the extractor, it's too big and we only do that in March anyway.
So the question- will bleach solution (sodium hypochlorite) get AFB spores?
How about iodine or bromine sterilizers used in brewing beer? What
temperature kills the nasty spores? Anyone with any experience? I am sure
there are folks with opinions! DB
