Today I snuck out of my shop and went to work the hives.
14 of 15 hives made it this far
The hive I lost was a late swarm hived in 3 mediums and appeared to have
starved out.
Pollen and nectar seem to be coming in quantity.
On a strong hive that has come through the winter with many frames still
full of honey is it good practice to pull a few of the full frames and
replace them with drawn comb?
It would seem to me that a two deep hive with 6-8 full frames would slow
up the expansion of the brood nest.
Of course living in CT it will probably be winter again in a day or so.
