Probably depends on the horses -they're all individuals. I've kept 2
hives in the pasture with my horse for several years with no problems.
When the hives expired from Varroa last fall she knocked the covers off
so she could lick the top bars. Wonder if she'll try it when I replace
the hives this Spring?
