I used plastic foundation for some of my honey supers for the first time this
year, and was very pleased with it.
I put it on during the major nectar flow here in Connecticut and the bees did
not hesitate to draw out honeycomb even though the honey supers were above a
queen excluder.
There was a post on the BEE-L in the spring that bees would not draw out
honeycomb on plastic above a queen excluder. I found this not to be true.
Once the nectar flow starts I think the bee will draw honeycomb on plastic
coated or not.
