Gary here's the way off....
 
"You may leave the list at any time by sending a "SIGNOFF BEE-L" COMMAND
TO [log in to unmask]"
 
Note: Don't do what I did and send it to every addressee on the BEE-L.
Make sure you send it to the list server "[log in to unmask]
