Now that varroa mites have killed most feral colonies in the U.S.,
backyard gardeners in urban areas often find they have no fruit set. By
contacting your neighbors and pointing out the benefits of having a bee
colony nearby, you might just find that they would welcome the chance to
get a fruit crop again.
Be sure, as someone else posted, that you have some screening to force
the bees to fly up before they leave the yard.
