I was able to successfully ftp the mentioned files but was unable to
read them.  They appear to be written by some word processing program.
I tried Word Perfect 5.1, DOS, and a text editor.  Could they be made
available in a test format and/or identify the format so I can find
a translator. (text format - sorry)
 
I was able to ftp the .zip file, unzip it, and run it, although without
the other files, I didn't know what I was doing.
